Wooladon Estate Photo Shoot
A Styled Wedding Shoot in a Country House in Devon.
With a palette rich in Autumnal colours, our creative team worked on this inspirational shoot to set the scene of an idyllic country setting in Devon – somewhere with little formalities and a sense of the traditional country, rustic flare – where you can bring the dog, partake in some traditional country sport and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
A combination of country tweed, exquisite scalloped lace bridal gown, rich florals, hand crafted stationery and cake design with the warming country backdrop – Our real couple Millie & Sean really set the scene of this romantic getaway.
I get filled with a huge sense of excitement as summer draws to a close. I adore those crisp days where the sun is lower in the sky casting that magical Autumnal glow.
The talented team at our showroom in Bodmin had a vision for a relaxed laid back feel by embracing natural light and the use of a natural backdrop but to retain hints of elegance and luxury.
Rich autumn colours where the main focus of our mood board, including tweed, berries, burnt orange and golds. We incorporated this theme into the makeup using a rich berry lipstick and gold toned eyeshadows. The model had beautiful brunette hair which was curled and put up to one side for a loose natural look paired with the elegant scalloped lace ivory/nude dress.
The sumptuous rich tones in the bouquet, plums, greens, reds and oranges adding in golden accents such as brass candlesticks on the table and rich orange ribbon in the stationery.
Vintage crockery with, vintage cut glassware to reflect the light, pheasant feathers framed each place setting, and wild berries to contrast the brown leather fabric chairs and rustic dining table.
Tweed stationery were key to our country themed dining room. By utilising her creative background in both colour and shape, Sarah constructs each piece carefully with both thought and passion, allowing designs to evolve from her hands. The stationery was designed to reflect the autumnal colours of berry shades in orange, golds and ivory. A combination of calligraphy and contemporary type tied everything together featuring Wooladon Estate hand drawn by her husband Toby.
We we privileged to have this incredible setting surrounding us for some outside shots of the estate. Nick really captured a romantic feel incorporating a near by quarry, willow tree and lake.
The ceremony room was dressed in lighter shades of golds, ivory and peach to create a fresh feel to the room to contrast the rustic red curtains, white table clothes and chivari chairs. Styled beautifully by Fred and Tina.
The stunning cake was designed and created by Donna a designer based in Bodmin who was really excited to be working on an Autumnal themed wedding shoot and immediately brought in rich, colours and natural elements. Using a stunning rustic log pattern on all tiers painted gold to give that opulent feel which went well with the venue being the Wooladon Estate in Devon.
The middle two tiers were kept neutral to show off the rich orange and peach floral arrangement on the top and bottom tier.
Finally, all this was captured by Nick Pearce, Bodmin based Wedding Photographer.
“Hearing the ideas from the fabulous suppliers involved and of course Autumn being such a beautiful time of year with a gorgeous array of colours and textures and I instantly knew we would be capturing a sumptuous medley of products, flowers, decor, cake and dresses that would beautifully describe an Autumn wedding.”
We were incredibly fortunate on the day to have some lovely warming gold light through the trees and the soft dusk winter light falling through the window of the house highlighting all the hard work and labour of love these fabulous suppliers put into their gorgeous floral arrangements, decor, cake design, stationery, hair and make up and bridal wear.
