Brides who feel fabulous on the happiest days of their lives

That’s the Bridal Gossip story

Hello, and thanks for stopping by the Bridal Gossip website. My name is Caroline and I’m a wedding planner and bridal stylist. I’ve worked in this business for 15 years and I’ve had a bridal boutique on the edge of the Camel Valley here in Wadebridge, since 2019.

I’ve never been a girly girl, but I truly love all things weddings and watching the perfect dress take centre stage of celebrations. And like many women, I know what it feels like to have anxiety about trying on and choosing clothes for special occasions. I believe so strongly that every woman should feel amazing on their wedding day and that somewhere, the perfect style wedding dress is waiting...But after many conversations about the stress of wedding dress shopping during planning meetings and my own difficult search for my wedding dress, I knew that women deserved better. So when the chance to open a bridal boutique alongside my wedding planning business arose, I grabbed it with both hands and Bridal Gossip in Wadebridge, Cornwall was born.

“When you’ve visited other boutiques, come and find me”

Falling in love with our reflection is not easy, but as I’ve learned about body shape and different dress designs, and the relationship between cut and fabric (and the importance of the right lighting) I have found new confidence myself. And I bring all this wisdom to the boutique, so the whole experience is as stress-free as possible. Am I about girl power and body positivity? Yes!

Quite simply, I understand body shapes, fabric and styles. And as a wedding planner I also understand the rigours of the day. So, I have some extra words about comfort and the importance of the feel of the fabric against your skin. Above all, I absolutely love helping brides to find the dress that looks and feels amazing and my boutique works with designers from size 6 to 32, and while I do carry some couture gowns of outstanding quality, the prices of many of my wedding dresses sit comfortably between £1,100 and £1,800. I am an experienced fitter who understands alterations and the small tweaks that make a dress truly bespoke - and stunning.

The best part of my job is the first chat on the sofa when I get to hear life stories - dress shopping is NEVER just about choosing a white - or shade of white- dress. Unlike other boutiques I allow time for these conversations because as I learn about the story, the dream dress or why the bride has absolutely no clue what she wants (all quite normal!), a picture begins to form about shape and style. And it is this picture that helps me select the gowns that I know will become part of wedding day dreams coming true.

I love helping women discover their inner confidence and celebrate the parts of themselves they love the best. It’s very easy for me to tell another woman they look amazing and beautiful, but for them to see it, believe it, and feel it for themselves is truly rewarding.

Bridal Gossip is the place I wanted when shopping for my own wedding dress: a place to feel comfortable and happy, spacious and softly lit with a relaxed, no-pushy vibe. It’s really important to me that brides do not feel overwhelmed and it’s my priority to help every bride feel absolutely incredible in their chosen dress, so appointments are necessary to guarantee the complete privacy of the boutique. I proudly offer a different kind of bridal boutique experience and recommend that I am not the first wedding dress shop you visit in your search.

When I am not surrounded by wedding dresses, you’ll find me juggling life as the mum of three boys (including toddler twins!). It’s busy, but I cherish this time and nothing makes me happier than spending time with family and friends, especially if it involves long walks across the beach or a glass of vino somewhere cosy!
