I have always been a planner. I was the girl who’s school bag had divided sections, my bedroom was always pristine and my family and friends addresses were in alphabetical order in a tidy little notebook next to my bed. Every night I would write a list of what I needed to do the next day and when it was done the satisfaction of crossing it out was so rewarding.

I went to study as a Graphic Designer at Surrey University and although my passion for creativity was there it was very clear I was not meant to design but I was meant to manage the design. So I continued with my degree still organising my daily life by categorising my food cupboards and colour coordinating my wardrobe.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that planning has always been with me or should I say I was born to plan? Even though I detoured in life and made some mistakes along the way my heart and head always bought me back to what I love to do. Plan! So it was no surprise when I followed my heart and started a business as a wedding planner in Cornwall Caroline Griffiths.

The bridal boutique, however, all started with a dream. Almost 10 years ago I experienced my first real wedding. Not a family wedding but a wedding from a working environment where I saw a different perspective. I went to see the bride in the bridal suite who looked so beautiful she took my breath away! She asked me to straighten her dress before the ceremony and that was it I knew what I wanted to do. I always knew I would plan weddings but having a bridal boutique in Cornwall of my own was so wonderful to consider that could be my day job. That’s all very well but how was little old me going to open a bridal shop in Cornwall and build it up to be successful? So like many other dreams, my Cornwall bridal boutique was placed to the back of my mind and I carried on working my way through a list of roles within the Hospitality and wedding Industry. I lived abroad, and travelled the world but the whole time it was clear that my passion was weddings. I got engaged whilst living in Australia and went to some bridal shops when my Mum came to visit. The atmosphere, the sparkling dresses, the fabrics! I was hungry for this and it was then I decided I needed to make this happen.

5 years later after years of working as a wedding planner in Cornwall learning from the very bottom, an opportunity came for me having my very own boutique I couldn’t believe my luck! Was I ready? Did I know enough about the bridal industry? Could I even do this? Like anyone starting their own business its a daunting time but when you are motivated and you follow your heart anything is possible.

My first little boutique was a room. A room within a wedding showroom full of inspiration and passion. I worked every day and night for weeks to get it ready for opening and when it did WOW! I was in love with everything about it. However, what I didn’t anticipate was the struggle building your own business would be. I mean I would open a bridal shop and brides would just come in and a buy a dress right? The next 18 months were tough and I put every minute I had (Whilst being pregnant with my first baby) into my now growing dream.

Caroline Griffiths from Bridal Gossip

I moved very quickly into my Bodmin residence and Bridal Gossip became established and finally, I was actually living my dream!

However, the big dream was to have my very own bridal boutique. One I could call home and be my very own inspirational place so it is with huge excitement and pride that I am delighted to share with you that Bridal Gossip has found its home! (You should see me smiling right now). My new location will be in the beautiful town of Wadebridge Cornwall only 15 minutes outside of Bodmin. The boutique will be having a brand new refurb, with some gorgeous new dresses inside. I am incredibly proud and can now say finally my dream came true!

I shall be opening the doors on Monday 22nd June and can not wait to welcome you.

Caroline xx
